Behind the scenes of your investment in wedding photography
It’s really interesting to be writing this in 2020 because whilst researching I found a post I had written when I was starting out 6 years ago (!) about the same topic; wedding photography pricing, and people’s expectations compared to what they were willing to pay.
What is an unplugged wedding?
The topic on the blog today is something that’s been bugging me all summer long. I’ve written about the positives on unplugged weddings before and I am so happy that they’ve had a huge upturn this year with lots of my couples having one – and even making cool signs to say so!
How to love yourself in your wedding photographs
After working in the wedding industry for nearly 5 years it regularly aggravates me how much bullshit there is that’s angled to make the bride feel like she is not enough as she is, and how now she is a ‘bride’ there is even more of an expectation (and let’s be frank, normal every day life is just enough) to look million dollar perfect. And by that I mean like the size 0 air brushed models plastered on the front of the magazines. There’s lists about body scrubs and facials and pedicures and tanning and diet plans – the list goes on. You might think the one day of your life you are marrying someone you adore and who adores you, you might be free from that kind of pressure but in fact it is just multiplied.
Marquee Farm Wedding in Shropshire - Sophie & Martin
This wedding quite literally was jam-packed full of fun & giggles! There were so many surprises for their guests, lots of music, some CRAZY dancing (make sure you scroll to the end of some gems!) a wonderful church service with a welsh male choir, catering by the delicious Beefy Boys of Hereford and so much more….
How to plan a winter wedding
A guide to planning a winter wedding!
So after a chilly winter I thought it was the perfect time to write a guide helping couples plan a winter wedding. There's a few things to consider when planning a wedding between Nov-Feb that don't apply when planning a summer weddings, especially from a photographic perspective and I wanted to write a bit about how to get the most out of your wedding day. All photos from Ross & Tara's December wedding.
Shrewsbury Art Gallery Wedding Photography in Shrewsbury - Alex & Alistair
Hope you're ready for this absolutely lovely wedding... It was such a delight to be part of their day and I'm super excited to share these with you.
I knew from the moment I met Alex and her lovely daughter Daisy we were going to get on, they didn't want any stuffy posing or formal shots just pure documentary of the happiest day ever. They got married locally at Shrewsbury Art Gallery and had their reception at one of their favourite Shrewsbury restaurants, Lion and Pheasant, parading down the Wyle Cop between the two! They cut out anything they didn't want - like formal photographs, a cake and a first dance. The getting ready in the morning was THE most fun hanging out with Alex, her sisters and of course her boisterous bridesmaids and daughter Daisy. There was bubbly, tears and lots of jumping around with pure excitement.
