The Guardian Dulux Camera Club Colour Award 2014 - I won!

If you follow my Facebook page at all you’ll see that I won a national competition with the guardian last month. I was featured in their Weekend edition with a page spread (featuring the wonderful Rosalind in all her glory). Ros collected my award and attended the ceremony in my Japanese absence.

After this I was invited down to lunch with the Head of Photography there, Roger Tooth. He showed me around the offices and gave me some information on what the team does there and how it works. Needless to say I was a little nervous/intimidated/excited.

I’m lining up some work experience with them in the summer to come down for a week or so and see how things work first hand, which is really exciting for me. As a guardian reader most my life there’s no other paper I’d rather have the honour of working with!

Me and my lovely lump of perspex

I also got some mentions in the local papers to my hometown, Shropshire too. (Another shameless plug but Ros is actually holding a Thomas Hardy Notebook that I made for her, a rebound vintage novel - See The Vintage Binding Co for more!)
