A few days before Christmas and feeling festive, I booked a family shoot to capture these guys at this wonderful time of year at their home. Although shooting in winter can be challenging because of the light I actually love the feel you get with the fairy lights around and the decorations! We choose to do this shoot where they live to capture the boys in their familiar surroundings, doing normal ‘every day’ things they love as a memory of them at this age. As I used to work with children I always adore doing family shoots, my approach is to put them at ease by chatting and playing with them before I introduce the camera to make sure there’s minimal ‘playing up’ and silly faces to capture them as they genuinely are. As you can see this went down pretty well and even ended in a pillow fight!

Last year I teamed up with the lovely Christy from Fronissa Decor to do a shoot with her handmade Macrame Arbour and other decorations at her home in Wales and we had such a fun day - not least because I got to shoot with a load of my beautiful friends too! The woodland setting was absolutely perfect for showing off how the arbour could look at a boho outdoor wedding ceremony, it definitely adds that little ‘something’ like an altar that you would have in a church wedding. She also makes macrame bridal bouquet wraps, hangers and glass bowl decorations, barefoot anklets, plant dyed ribbons, macrame chair backs and more.

I am finalllly getting round to blogging this lovely, lovely shoot that I had the pleasure of being part of last year, which took place in one of my favourite locations in Shrewsbury - the historic Flaxmill Maltings. This was a collaboration between Bridie from Wild Flora Clothing, Forest et Fawn who design gorgeous jewellery and accessories, a few wonderful models (including one of my besties and my sister!) and makeup artist Miranda Etheridge.
